'Like as the starling flocks upon the wing...'
|
What could be be more Madrigalian than a winter themed round with birds in it? Starlings, robins, swallows.... create your own murmuration with this round!
And with this round, we FINALLY complete our 'A round a month' project. Huge thanks to everyone who has contributed - particularly to Katy, Catriona, Daisy and Alison for the writing of the rounds. And to Madrigirls and Muldoon's Picnic for the singing of the rounds. Please - use these rounds! We hope you enjoy them. Love Madrigirls xx |
Using the round
Whoop! The final round of the year - time to celebrate. And what better way that with some birds and oldy-worldy language. You could swap the word 'song' for 'child' if you wanted to make it relevant for a carol service etc.
- This is a simple round - easy to teach, easy to pick up. The choosing note in the fourth part offers an alternative if you've no low singers. But you could also divide your singers and cover both notes if you wish.
- The pause marks shows a stoping place if you wish to end the round on a chord.
- This round (surprise, surprise!) works in 8 parts too - with entries coming at the beginning of bar 3.
